Central Drum Head Clock with French movement by Vincent et Cie, Silver medal 1855. A decorated Porcelain face with English numerals and scrolled gilt hands. Twin key holes for the twin-train mechanism. The bezel has a beaded effect surrounding a deeply domed lens. The fancy pendulum hangs down into the portico and is visibly moving. Drum is mounted by a marble plinth supporting a Laurel ring with Bow and Arrow and Quiver. The portico consists of a red variegated marble base on 4 adjustable feet with beaded rim.
Then 4 columns with ormolu capitals supports the drum and portico hood. Rows of gilded swags cross the columns and the hood has a gilded frieze with rising finials. The candlesticks consist of a similar gilded and marble base with single tapering column rising up to Scroll-work Ormolu arms supporting cast sconces and beaded drip trays. The central sconce rises up on moulded baluster supports and has its moulded flame effect snuffer in place.Full working, striking the hours and once on the half hour.
