Here is a remarkable museum quality life-size bisque French figurine by Jean Gille that was manufactured around 1845-55 years and presented among others on the International Exhibition held on the Champs-Élysées in Paris from 15 May to 15 November 1855. The figurine of a young child is 34 (87 cm) high and 15 (39 cm) wide over its base is in excellent condition for its age. The figurine does not have marks, which is not unusual for the early Gilley production. The identical figurine is being permanently exposed in Cragside, Northumberland Museum, UK with the mark that corresponds to 1837-55 years of production.
